For more than seven decades, Chhotu Ram Arya College, Sonepat has remained committed to the cause of accessible and quality higher education. Established in 1951 by Ch. Tika Ram in memory of Ch. Chhotu Ram, the institution was founded with a vision of expanding educational opportunities and contributing to the social and intellectual development of the region.
Today, the college continues this legacy by combining its rich heritage with contemporary approaches to teaching, learning, research, sports, culture and student development.
With the dawn of independence, India faced the pressing need to expand access to higher education, particularly for the underprivileged and socially disadvantaged sections of society. It was in response to this larger national aspiration that Ch. Tika Ram established Chhotu Ram Arya College in 1951, on the death anniversary of the revered social reformer and educationist Ch. Chhotu Ram.
Founded with a vision of social upliftment through education, the College has remained deeply rooted in the ideals and progressive philosophy of Ch. Tika Ram and Ch. Chhotu Ram. Their commitment to education, social justice, equality and empowerment continues to inspire the institution's mission of creating meaningful opportunities for learners from diverse backgrounds.

Chhotu Ram Arya College, Sonepat traces its origins to the formative years of independent India, when access to higher education was an important instrument of social transformation.
Inspired by the ideals of Ch. Chhotu Ram and Ch. Tika Ram, the institution was established in 1951 with a larger social purpose—to make higher education accessible and empower young people through knowledge, skills and values.

A key facility is the centralised air-conditioned, soundproof theatre/multipurpose hall with a seating capacity of approximately 500, offering an ideal setting for academic, cultural and professional gatherings. The campus cafeteria provides a convenient and comfortable space for students and staff to refresh themselves during the academic day.
